Rocha

The Rocha Fútbol Club is a Uruguayan football club from the city of Rocha, Uruguay. It was founded in 1999 and plays in the second professional division of Uruguay.

Rocha was the first club from outside Montevideo to have played in the Copa Libertadores, having competed in 2006. The club was established in 1999 and won the promotion to the Uruguayan top division in 2003.

In 2005, after capturing the Apertura title, the team notably did their lap of honour with their mascot, a cow owned by journalist Robert Santurio.

The Rocha FC kit is also the kit of the Rocha provincial team that plays in OFI (inner country football organization).

Rocha er et uruguayansk fotballag fra byen Rocha. Klubben ble stiftet i 1999 og spiller for tiden i Uruguays toppdivisjon, Primera División. Roch as hjemmebane er Estadio Mario Sobrero, som har en kapasitet på rundt 8000 tilskuere.

Rochas mest kjente spiller er Diego Forlán, som spilte for klubben fra 2005 til 2007. Forlán var en del av Uruguays lag som vant Copa América i 2011 og 2015.

Rocha har vunnet Primera División ved én anledning, i 2005. De har også vunnet Segunda División tre ganger, i 2002, 2004 og 2019.

I internasjonale konkurranser har Rocha deltatt i Copa Sudamericana ved tre anledninger, i 2006, 2007 og 2020. Deres beste resultat var i 2007, da de nådde kvartfinalen.
